VISIT OF DELEGATION FROM LEATHER EXPORT PROMOTION COUNCIL OF INDIA 26TH – 29TH MAY 2010

1. A 10 member delegation from the Leather Export Promotion Council of India visited Kazakhstan from 26 -29 May 2010. The delegation comprised representatives of leading companies dealing in raw and semi-finished products. The aim of the visit was to explore new avenues for sourcing and import of raw materials such as raw hides and skins and semi-finished and finished leather from Kazakhstan. The delegation was in Astana on 26 -27th May 2010 and in Almaty on 28 -29th May 2010.
2. The Embassy organized a Buyer –Seller Meet (BSM) in Intercontinental Hotel in Almaty on 28th May 2010 which provided an opportunity for the Indian delegation to meet and interact with exporters from Kazakhstan. The Buyer Seller meet was inaugurated by H.E. Mr Ashok Sajjanhar. The Embassy also organized meetings for the delegation with business representatives during their stay at Astana.

3. A Reception was hosted at the Embassy Residence on 26th May 2010 in honour of the visiting delegation. The Reception was attended by a number of Parliamentarians, members of government and business community and provided an opportunity for the delegation to interact with their interlocutors in an informal setting.

4. The assembled guest partook of the delicious Indian Fare prepared for the occasion and enjoyed the Reception which was held in a relaxed and festive atmosphere
