A grand reception was held on 26 January 2011, at Hotel Ramada Plaza Astana to celebrate the 61st Republic Day of India. The programme began with the playing of the national anthem of India and Kazakhstan. This was followed by the address of Mr. Ram Singh, Charge d’ Affairs, Embassy of India and H.E. Asset Magauov, Vice Minister of Oil and Gas.

The reception was attended by numerous members of parliament, representatives of the Kazakh government, members of the diplomatic community, prominent personalities of Astana and members of the Indian community.
